    • PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of rainbow-colored interference fringes on a panel by arranging plural projections in the gap between a display surface and an information input device facing this display surface to make the gap between them approximately uniform.
      CONSTITUTION: A transparent input switch panel 1 faces a display surface 2a of a plane display device 2 and is combined with the device 2. Plural projections 1b, 1b... are provided at equal intervals on a surface 1a, which faces the device 2, of the panel 1. Tips of these projections 1b, 1b... are brought into contact with the display surface 2a of the device 2 to keep a gap (d) between the surface 1a of the panel 1 and the display surface 2a of the device approximately uniform throughout surfaces of the device 2 and the panel 1. As the result, rainbow-colored interference fringes which occur when the display surface and the panel are provided to contact closely with each other are prevented to make the display on the display device easy to see.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent potential fluctuation of a counter electrode with simple constitution, and obtain an electrochromic display cell of superior responsiveness, reliability and display quality by forming an auxiliary electrode for the counter electrode of a prescribed infiltration type electrode material. CONSTITUTION:A counter electrode 6 and an auxiliary electrode 9 are provided in opposition to display side electrodes formed of a transparent conductive film 2 of an electrochromic display (ECD) cell, an electrochromic (EC) layer 3, an insulation layer 4, etc. If prescribed potential is applied between these electrodes 6 and 9, and the electrode 6 is short-circuited with the display electrodes, the ECD is driven to form a color. If in this case the electrode 9 is formed by using an infiltration type electrode material such as manganese dioxide, the potential change of metal, the occurrence of an migration phenomenon, etc. are prevented. As a result, the ECD of fast response and high reliability and display quality is obtained with the simple constitution.

    • PURPOSE:To seal efficiently a notch as a hole for injecting a liq. crystal in a short time without causing the deterioration of the injected liq. crystal due to a sealing resin by sealing the notch in a resin for sticking two plastic substrates together on the peripheral edges of the insides of the substrates by joining the substrates together under heating. CONSTITUTION:When a notch for injecting a liq. crystal in a resin 2 for sticking two plastic substrates of polyester, nylon, polypropylene or the like together on the peripheral edges of the insides of the substrates is sealed, the notched part of the resulting liq. crystal display element 4 is mounted on a table 5, and joining under heating is carried out with an ultrasonic joining device consisting of a permanent magnet 9, a ferrite vibrator 10, a support flange 11 and an ultrasonic vibration horn 12. For example, one side 13 of the element is joined all over under heating. Impulse sealing or high frequency joining may be applied besides the ultrasonic joining method. When the substrates are made of polyethylene or polypropylene, simple press bonding under heating may be applied. Thus, thenotch is easily sealed without using any special sealing resin.
