    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near infrared ray absorbent composition appropriate for an optical filter for a display which can effectively shield the near infrared rays released from various display devices and has excellent durability to light and wet heat and a near infrared ray absorbent filter using the same.
      SOLUTION: The near infrared ray absorbent composition contains one or more resins selected from the group consisting of (A) a general-purpose polystyrene resin of ≤0.1% in water absorption, a polyolefin-based resin and alicyclic polyolefin resin and a resin not belonging to the group (A), wherein the content of the resin of the group (A) in the entire resin ranges from 0.5 to 40wt% and the near infrared ray absorbent composition contains a near infrared ray absorbent and UV absorbent. The near infrared ray absorbent filter is constituted by coating the surface of a transparent resin base material with the near infrared ray absorbent composition.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition suitable for an optical filter for a plasma display which can effectively shield neon light and remove the influence of fluorescence on image colors and has high durability, and to provide a material of the optical filter.
      SOLUTION: The composition for the optical filter is characterized by including 0.05-8 weight part of a coloring matter having a maximum absorption wavelength in an area of 620-700 nm in 1 weight part of a cyanic group coloring matter of which the half-value width as a neon light absorbing coloring matter is ≤100 nm. The optical filter material for the display is characterized by containing near infrared absorbing coloring matter in the composition for the optical filter.
