    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin optical pickup that reproduces the signals recorded on the signal recording layer of an optical disk. SOLUTION: The optical pickup includes: a collimator lens 17 for receiving the diverging laser beam emitted from a laser diode 12 and for making it parallel; a prism 18 having an incident surface 18a to receive the laser beam made parallel by the collimator lens 17 and a reflecting surface 18b to reflect the laser beam incident from the incident surface 18a and also a reflecting and emitting surface 18c for reflecting the laser beam reflected on the surface 18b back to the surface 18b and for directing the beam reflected again on the surface 18b toward the objective lens 19.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser radar capable of miniaturizing a device.SOLUTION: A laser radar 1 includes: an emission unit 3 for emitting a laser beam; a mirror 213 for reflecting the laser beam toward a target area; a mirror actuator 2 for driving the mirror 213 so that the laser beam scans the target area; a folding mirror 51 for reflecting reflected light of the laser beam which was reflected in the target area and also reflected by the mirror 213 toward a direction separating from the target area; a light-receiving lens 41 for condensing the reflected light reflected by the folding mirror 51; and a light detector 43 for receiving the reflected light condensed by the light-receiving lens 41. By folding a light-receiving optical path of the reflected light from the target area by the folding mirror 51, the emission unit 3 and a light-receiving unit 4 can be arranged efficiently in space below the mirror actuator 2. Thereby, the miniaturization of the laser radar 1 can be achieved.
