A positive electrode cap constituting the sealing body has a space for housing a valve body and a flange. The flange is formed at an acute angle with the sidewall of the space, and the flange and sealing body are fixed by welding.

The collector lead has a plane section in the same outside diameter as the current collector to be connected and a head section formed in shape of a dish, the head section being connected with the sealing body so that the topmost section of the collector lead after the battery is sealed up does not touch the sealing plate and that the sealing plate at the uppermost section is protruded toward the outer packaging of the battery.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical secondary battery with excellent output characteristics by reducing internal resistance through the use of a current-collecting lead with excellent current-collecting properties.SOLUTION: A cylindrical secondary battery of the present invention is configured such that a current-collecting lead 10 is welded to a collector welded to an upper portion of an electrode group and the current-collecting lead 10 is also welded to a sealing assembly sealing an opening of an outer can. The current-collecting lead 10 formed to have a substantially same diameter as an outer diameter of the collector comprises: a flat surface part 11 welded to the collector; and a top part 12 which is curved and protrudingly formed in a substantially dome shape from the flat surface part 11, and which is welded to the sealing assembly. A central opening 12a is formed at a central portion of the top part. Around the central opening 12a, a plurality of welding projections 12c are formed to protrude toward the sealing assembly. The welding projections serve as welding spots to the sealing assembly. The top part 12 is deformed by pressing force from the sealing assembly to be brought into surface contact with a corner portion of a convex portion formed on a lower surface of the sealing assembly.
