    • PURPOSE:To obtain rough blanks of proper volume distribution at high precision, by forming plural protruding parts and recess parts on the die sinking faces of top part and bottom part, and absorbing the elongation of wall thickness of the blank compressed by the protruding parts in the recess parts. CONSTITUTION:Plural protruding parts 3 and one long protruding part 3' are formed in the axial direction of shade sinking face face 2A of a top die 2. Similarly, protruding parts 5, 5' are opposedly formed on the die sinking face 4A of a bottom die 4. By using these protruding parts, recess parts are formed in the die sinking faces 2A, 4A, and compression cavities 6, 6' and bulge-out cavity 7 of a blank S are formed. Compression is applied to the blank S of square section or the like which rotates in the compression cavity 6, and the elongation of the wall thickness of the blank S due to compression is absorbed in the bulge-out cavity 7 formed by the recess parts. When this operation is repeated until the cavity 7 is filled up with the blank wall, a rough blank of a proper volume distribution having a part of which sectional area is larger than the blank may be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To omit machine finishing by providing a movable die split to take draft angle between upper and lower fixed dies, pressing it strongly against a tooth form face at the time of pressing and forming a segment by an action. CONSTITUTION:A movable die 11 provided between fixed dies 3, 4 fitted to upper and lower dies 1, 2 can move along a groove on a sliding face 10. A rough forged segment A is placed on the fixed die 4 and pressed in the direction shown by the arrow. Upper and lower dies 3, 4 come close to each other and overlap each other while wedges 5, 8 of the die 3 are pressure contacted and slid to a wedge 6 of the die 4 and a wedge 14 of the movable die 11. At this time, the movable die 11 is pressed elastically against the tooth form part of the segment A and three tooth faces of the segment A are shaped simultaneously. The die is opened after completion of shaping, and the movable die 11 is retreated along the groove by a returning device 15. As shaping can be made at accuracy that allows using material with surface as forged by the mechanism, machine finishing can be omitted.
