摘要： PURPOSE:To permit the easy change of the sectional shape of a continuous casting mold of a rectangular section which consists of a pair of long side members and short side members and is changeable in the sectional shape without the need for replacing the bottom plate thereof by forming the bottom plate of the above-mentioned casting mold into the specific construction having slopes at both ends in the longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:The bottom plate 20 of the continuous casting mold 4 which is formed of a pair of the water cooling type long side members 4, 4 and a pair of water cooling type short side members 6, 6 and can be changed in the rectangular sectional shape by the attachment and detachment of said members is formed with the slopes 26, 26 at both ends in the longitudinal direction. The attachment and detachment of the short side members 6 imposed thereon are executed on the slopes 26 while the leakage of a molten steel is prevented. The long side members 4 are also curved 22 in such a manner that the outside thereof projects. Said members are made attachable and detachable to and from each other by supporting members 8, 8 at both ends. The long side and short side members are attached and detached without changing the bottom plate 20 at every change in the stage of changing the sectional shape of the continuous casting mold to an optional shape by attaching and detaching two pairs of the long and short side members and therefore the rectangular sectional shape of the steel ingot is easily and quickly changed and the working efficiency is improved.
