    • PURPOSE:To provide a practical ship side position detecting device capable of performing the distance measuring of a side wall position even in the state of the scraper part of a continuous unloader not being tuned vertically to the wall surface. CONSTITUTION:A ship side position detecting device is formed of a boom turning angle detector 17, a vertical carrier part turning angle detector 16, an ultrasonic distance measuring apparatus 10 fitted to the tip part of a vertical carrier part, a distance measuring apparatus turning device 14 for turning the ultrasonic distance measuring apparatus 10, and an arithmetic unit 20 for sending a control signal to the distance measuring apparatus turning device 14 so as to turn the ultrasonic distance measuring apparatus 10 in such a way that its beams are vertical to a ship hold inner wall on the basis of detected information from the boom turning angle detector 17 and the vertical carrier part turning angle detector 16. How many times the distance measuring apparatus 10 to be turned in order to vertically face the side wall can be computed on the basis of the turning angles of a boom and a vertical carrier part. This computed value is sent as a control signal to the distance measuring apparatus turning device 14, and the ultrasonic distance measuring apparatus is driven in such a way as to be turned vertically to the side wall.

    • PURPOSE:To operate two loaders safely even if they approach each other until they almost collide by detecting the contact of No.1 and No.2 alarm frames on the basis of output data from No.1 and No.2 frame computation means, and providing a monitor process means for outputting an alarm signal showing the approaches of No.1 and No.2 loaders to each other into these loaders. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of detection data 51, 54 from No.1 and No.2 detectors set in No.1 and No.2 loaders respectively, the position data 57, 58 of No.1 and No.2 alarm frames for enclosing No.1 and No.2 loaders are computated by No.1 and No.2 frame computation means 53, 56. The data 57, 58 output from these frame computation means 53, 56 are input into a monitor process means 66. On the basis of these output data 57, 58, an alarm signal 65 showing the approaches of No.1 and No.2 alarm frames to each other is output into No.1 and No.2 loaders respectively. As a result, the two loaders can be operated safely even if they are made to approach each other until they almost collide.

    • PURPOSE:To measure an accurate center position and to enable smooth automatic handling by controlling and moving the body to be conveyed to the center of a screen with the image signal of an ITV camera and then rotating the camera to the opposition position according to the distance to an end surface measured by two distance sensors. CONSTITUTION:A movement detecting device 11 for a coil 14 sends the image signal from the ITV camera 21 to an image processor and also sends signals from a traveling position detector 26 and an elevation position detector 29 to the control computer in a control panel 16. The coil 15 is positioned in the center of the screen of the camera 21 with the control signal from a computer. Then the two distance sensors 23 measure the distance to the end surface of the coil 14. Then a rotary driving device 12 is controlled so that the measurement result is equal, thereby setting the camera 21 opposite the end surface of the coil 14. Consequently, the center position of the coil 14 can be detected with high accuracy and the smooth automatic handling is enabled.
