摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost composite feeder wire type single-core drop optical fiber cable with an optical element portion, a support wire, and a feeder wire integrated which is simple to lay and can be separated easily in a small number of steps. SOLUTION: The composite feeder wire type single-core drop optical fiber cable 10 consists of the optical element portion 13 having one optical coated fiber line 11 and two tension members 12 disposed to hold the optical fiber core wire 11 in between, a support wire portion 15 having the support wire 14 for supporting the optical element portion 13, and a feeder wire portion 17 having a feeder wire 16. The one optical coated fiber line 11, the two tension members 12, the support wire 14, and the feeder wire 16 are disposed so that their centers of cross-section lie on the same straight line. These portions are incorporated by a sheath 18.

SOLUTION: In an optical fiber, a coated optical fiber 1 located at the center of the cable and two tension members 2 disposed at both sides of and parallel to the fiber 1 are covered en block with an outer sheath 3 having a nearly rectangular cross section so that the fiber 1 and the members 2 are included in the same plane. The cable is further provided with notches 4 in the surface of the outer sheath 3 and just above and just below the fiber 1, respectively, and the notches 4 are extended in the longitudinal direction parallel to the fiber 1, and each notch has a shape of a rhombus, a lens form or the like which forms a nearly closed slit 41 at the outer sheath surface.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thin optical cord of aramid fibers (TM) having a smooth surface and uniform in diameter by binding integrated high tensile fibers, is particular aramid fibers (TM) with a resin or twisting the fibers as high tensile wires constituting an optical cord. SOLUTION: The optical cord comprises a core optical fiber, high tensile fibers and a jacket, the high tensile fibers are disposed along the coated optical fiber in an integrated state and the jacket is composed of polyamide resin or polybutyl terephthalate resin. The optical cord is cylindrically bound with this resin. In another embodiment, only the surface is bound with a UV-curing resin and the resin is not contained in the central part. The high tensile fibers may be twisted 1-2 times per 1 cm. The outside diameter of the jacket is 1.0-1.2 mm.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated optical fiber ribbon which is hardly curlable and deformable and is kink-free. SOLUTION: This coated optical fiber ribbon is constituted by arraying a plurality of optical fibers 1 in juxtaposition and providing the outer periphery thereof with a thermoplastic resin layer 2. This thermoplastic resin layer 2 is so formed that its Young's modulus decreases continuously from the surface toward the inner side. The large Young's modulus of the surface makes the coated optical fibers hardly deformable and makes the fibers substantially kink-free in spite of congestion. The Young's modulus increasingly lower toward the inner side makes the fibers hardly curlable.
