摘要： PURPOSE:A solid resol phenolic resin having rapid curability and excellent bindability, prepared by polycondensing a phenol with an aldehyde with the aid of an aromatic amine and an alkali catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A phenol (e.g., phenol) is reacted with an aldehyde (e.g., formalin) at a molar ratio of about 1:1-3, in the presence of about 0.03-0.5mol of aromatic amine (e.g., aniline) and about 0.001-0.2mol of an alkaline catalyst (e.g., oxide or hydroxide of a bivalent metal) per mol of phenol.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a phenolic resin foam with a contained residual hardener neutralized and free from lowering of the curing rate during expansion, by blending a carbonate of a specified element as a neutralizing agent together with additives, with a liquid resol type phenolic resin. CONSTITUTION:In a process for the production of a resol type phenolic resin foam by blending additives such as blowing agent, hardener, etc. with a liquid resol type phenolic resin, a carbonate of an element selected from among Group IIA metals of the Periodic Table is blended as a neutralizing agent. Pref. examples of the carbonates are magnesium, calcium and barium carbonate. Magnesium carbonate is particularly preferred. Pref. the carbonate has a bulk density of 0.4-0.7g/cm . The carbonate is used in an amount of 0.5-5eq. per eq. of a hardener for said phenolic resin.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain resin-coated sand for low melting point casting, such as aluminum, having high sticking point, strength of a cold mold and good collapsibility by using binder consisting essentially of urea-containing resin and polyisocyanate compound. SOLUTION: This binder is composed of a urea-containing resin and polyisocyanate compound. When the resin-coated sand is manufactured by using this binder for mold, the urea-containing resin or the urea-containing resin and a phenol resin are added into heated refractory aggregate and mixed and successively, the polyisocyanate compound is added and mixed. Where, as the generally usable urea amount in the urea-containing resin, the urea amount used for reaction is desirable to be 5-80 wt.% of the obtd. resin solid content. Further, the polyisocyanate compound is desirable to be used in the range of 3-50 wt.% of the total amount of the urea-containing resin and the phenol resin.
