    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an attachment from a dangerous condition due to an erroneous operation when a crane with a luffing jib is operated from a crane working position to a crane assembly/disassembly position or operated reversely so as to accomplish improvement in safety and operability, prevention of breakage, and reduction in labor of an operator in an operation time. SOLUTION: In a crane with a luffing jib, a ground angle detector 15 for a front post 4 is arranged in the front post 4, while a ground angle detector 16 is arranged similarly in a rear post 5. On the basis of a detected angle θF and a detected angle θR from the ground angle detectors 15, 16, an included angle θM between the front post 4 and the rear post 5 is calculated according to an expression: θM=X-θF-θR (X: a value variable according to a boom condition). From the included angle θM, a safety area of a tangent distance between the base fixed part of the luffing jib 2 and the base faxed part 4a of the front post 4 is sorted out, and an alarm is given to an operation room.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety of work by automatically judging the work mode of a crane from an attachment mounted on a machine body, displaying it, and preventing the erroneous operation of the crane to be generated caused by the mistake of the operator. SOLUTION: Such as a boom detecting means 11, a jig detecting means 12, or the like, a means for detecting the presence of respective type of attachments is provided, and a mode setting switch 19 for setting and inputting the work mode by an operator is provided. The work mode based on the specification of the actually mounted machine is automatically judged by a work mode sensing device 18 on the basis of detected signals (B, J,...) from respective detecting means 11 to 17. The work mode set by the operator is judged by the mode set managing device 20 on the basis of a set specification signal from the mode setting switch 19. The data MD1 and MD2 of both work modes are compared with each other by a mode comparing managing device 21, and whether the work mode set by the operator is normal or abnormal is displayed by a mode display lamp 22. If the setting is normal, a work safety device 23 is operated and made into the operable state.
