    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an indoaniline-based dye from deteriorating even under the condition that the indoaniline-based dye represented by a formula is included in a thermal transfer dye layer and a specified weight ratio between a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether and a phosphate is included in a heat resistant lubricity layer. SOLUTION: A thermal transfer sheet is so constituted as to have a base material sheet 1, on the front surface of which a thermal transfer dye layer 2 is provided, while on the rear surface of which a heat resistant lubricity layer 3 is provided. The thermal transfer dye layer 2 has a structure formed by dispersing a compound represented as an indoaniline-based dye by a formula, in which R represents an alkyl group or an alkoxy group, R , R R , R , R and R represent independently a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxyl group, a formamino group, an alkyl caboxyl amino group or a halogen atom, in a binder. The heat resistant lubricity layer 3 has a structure formed by dispersing a polyoxy ethylene alkyl ether and a phosphoric aic, the ratio of the former to the latter between which is 10:1-1:2, in a binder resin.
