    • PURPOSE:To attain the mode inversion automatically by detecting the order of a leading edge and a trailing edge with a half period of a RF switching pulse of a reproducing signal subject to waveform shaping so as to apply the mode discrimination at slow reproduction. CONSTITUTION:When the mode of a video signal recorded on a tape is switched at the slow reproduction, a high level in the reproduced RF signal is lost at the middle portion of the RF switching pulse D within a half period. When the high level of the reproduced RF signal exists at the middle part within a half period of the RF switching pulse D, an output C of a waveform shaping circuit 6 within a half period of the RF switching pulse appears in the order of leading and trailing. Then an output J of a D-FF7 always goes to a high level. When the high level fo the reproduced RF signal does not exist in the middle part within a half period of the RF switching pulse D, an output C of the waveform shaping circuit 6 does not appear in the order of leading and trailing and the output J of the D-FF17 always goes to a low level. A discrimination circuit 18 detects the consecutive low level of the output of the D-FF17 to output a mode switching signal from an output terminal 19.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a picture just after the transition from a normal reproduction mode to a slow reproduction mode from noizing on its upper and lower parts by averaging a tracking error voltage at the time of a first still reproduction in the slow reproduction mode and controlling the next normal reproduction based on the averaged voltage. CONSTITUTION:A slow reproduction is carried out by repeating a still reproduction and a normal reproduction with a magnetic tape recorded with pilot signals for tracking together with video signals. When the magnetic tape is stopped in order to switch over from the normal reproduction mode to the first still reproduction of the slow reproduction mode, a tracking error voltage is averaged to obtain a voltage almost equivalent to the tracking error voltage during the slow reproduction, and the next normal reproduction is then controlled based on the obtained voltage. Consequently, no tracking error is occurred upon the slow reproduction just transited from the normal reproduction, thus preventing a picture from noizing on its upper or lower part.

Thus, when the battery of the desired capacity is mounted in the video camera as necessary, the video camera can be easily and neatly accommodated in the bag and carried around by simply varying the engagement position of the lid member for the bag body according to the size of the battery.

CONSTITUTION:An input video signal Si from a video camera 1 is supplied in common to a field memory 11, a coefficient device 13 and a fixed contact at the position (ee) of a changeover switch 3 via a fixed contact of rec position of a changeover switch 2 and a moving contact. A video signal Sd delayed by one field period is fed to a coefficient device 14 from the field memory 11 and an output of both the coefficient devices 13, 14 is fed to an adder 15. A cross fade video signal Sf outputted from the adder 15 is fed in common to a monitor (view finder) 4 and a VTR 5 via a fixed contact (mry) and a moving contact of the switch 3 and an output of the VTR 5 is fed to a fixed contact (pb) of the switch 2. A control signal outputted from a memory control circuit 16 is fed respectively to a couple of the coefficient devices 13, 14 and the field memory 11.
