    • PURPOSE:To form a molded piece having a constant thickness to extend other characteristic margins to the molded piece by providing a clamping force regulating mechanism for unifomizing a clamping force to be supplied in the direction of each guide shaft in a molding machine injecting a thermoplastic material into a mold cavity with the application of a clamping force. CONSTITUTION:A tie bar tension regulating part 21A is provided for regulating a tension applied to tie bars. The tension is produced in accordance with a clamping force when clamping is conducted by a fixed platen 11 and a movable platen 12. A recessed part 202 is formed by recessing an area for passing a tie bar 20a, 20b through in the tie bar tension regulating part 21A. The recessed part 202 is divided into two hydraulic cylinders 205, 206 by a boundary wall 204 wound with a sealing ring 203. Oil supply ports 205a, 206a of the hydraulic cylinders are connected to a solenoid change-over valve 209 forming a tie bar tension control, part 208A through oil supply pipes 21a.

    • PURPOSE:To form a tip face as a mounting reference face to a disk rotation drive means and form a disk substrate having a protrusion with a punched hole at the central part with a high accuracy and without generating mold distortion. CONSTITUTION:A sliding member 48 forming a peripheral face of a disk substrate is arranged on a periphery of a moving side metal mold 32 movably back and forth. When a disk substrate molding cavity 34 is filled with synthetic resin material, the sliding member 48 is moved relatively with respect to the moving side metal mold 32 and is made to strike a fixed side metal mold 31 so as to prevent generation, on the periphery of the molding cavity 34, of clearance where the synthetic resin material might penetrate. Further, by providing a mold release resistant section on the moving side metal mold 32, after the disk substrate is molded, when a mold opening is performed, the molded disk substrate 2 is held by the mold release resistant section and is released from a stamper face 40 mounted on the fixed side metal mold 31.

    • PURPOSE:To moderate mechanical precision required for a mold and mold a disk base with a high precision by a method wherein resin is injected into a cavity of the disk base mold, a columnar movable member is inserted thereafter to the middle in the direction of thickness, and after release, a resin piece left in the part is removed, so as to form a center hole. CONSTITUTION:The fore end of a sprue bush 5 of a mold is made to project into a molding cavity 4 and a metal plate fitting recession is formed in a disk base by a fore end face 5a. A circular recession 5b is formed on the fore end side of the sprue bush 5. A ring-shaped core 11 for molding a bulging part, which has a larger diameter than the sprue bush 5, is disposed at a somewhat recessed position in the central part of a movable half 3, and/on the inner circumference side thereof, a columnar movable member 12 having an outside diameter corresponding to the inside diameter of the center hole is provided movably forward and backward. A stamper 7 is fitted to a fixed half 2, and after resin is injected, the movable member 12 is made to advance to a position just a little before its coming into contact with the sprue bush 5. After release, a resin piece 22 covering the center hole 21 is removed by cutting.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent ghost pits and an abnormal polarization part from being formed by forming recessed grooves on a substrate main body at the time of forming a disk substrate. CONSTITUTION:With respect to a disk substrate 31 for optical disk where recording tracks on which a prescribed information signal will be recorded are formed spirally or in concentric circles and prepit patterns 32 for control are formed along recording tracks, recessed grooves 34 are formed in positions deviated from centers in the breadthwise direction of recording tracks in the diametral direction of the substrate main body between prepit patterns 32 in the diametral direction of the substrate main body. In this case, recessed grooves 34 function to prevent the occurrence of uneven release in recording track area parts at the time of release between a disk substrate 31 which is formed with a mold and is made of a synthetic resin and a stamper made of metallic materials or the like. Thus, ghost pits and abnormal polarization parts are prevented from being formed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the influence of the gases of low molecular weight components of a synthetic resin material, a mold release agent, and others effectively by forming a sealing part which contacts the peripheral side part of the back part of a stamper and seals the gap between the back part of the stamper and a stamper mounting surface on a stamper mounting surface of a mold. SOLUTION: A metal mold for a disk substrate is equipped with a fixed metal mold 1 and a movable metal mold 2 which are arranged opposite to each other, and between a stamper mounting surface 3 which is a main surface part of the fixed metal mold 1 and the main surface part of the movable metal mold 2, when the molds 1, 2 are butted against each other, a molding cavity 4 of a shape corresponding to the disk substrate to be molded is formed. An O-ring 12 to be a sealing member is arranged in the peripheral part of the stamper mounting surface 3 of the fixed metal mold 1. Accordingly, since the gap between the back part of a stamper 8 and the stamper mounting surface 3 is sealed by the O-ring 12, the intrusion of the gases of low molecular weight components, a mold release agent, and others generated in the mold is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To ensure the stable revolution of a disk, and to prevent the generation of defective recording and regeneration by molding a bottomed center hole with a mounting reference plane to a part of an inner circumferential surface and forming a through-hole by a movable member, in which a part of a mounting reference hole is projected into a cavity for molding. CONSTITUTION:A molten polycarbonate resin fed through a sprue bush 24 is injected into the molding cavity 23 of a mold assembly 20, and a disk substrate 11 with a bottomed center hole 14 is molded. The disc substrate is molded, and a movable member 32 disposed on the half mold 22 side is projected to the front mold 21 side by operating a movable means. A through-hole is bored to the bottom section 16 of the center hole 14 by the projection. The disk substrate 11, to which the through-hole is bored, is cured in the mold assembly 20, and extracted from the inside of the cavity 23 for molding, thus forming the disk substrate 11 as the blank of a magneto optic disk.

    • PURPOSE:To enable optical disc substrates to be molded without increasing the birefringence or contamination by injection-molding polycarbonate resin containing no heat stabilizing agent at a specific resin temperature or lower and for a plasticizing residence time or shorter. CONSTITUTION:For manufacturing an optical disc substrate, a mold-closed state is made such that the outer peripheral part 21a of a movable mold 21 is placed into contact with the tip end part 28a of a mold holding part 28 provided on the outer periphery of a fixed mold 22, and the polycarbonate resin melted in a resin injecting part 1 is injected from a resin injection inlet 27 into a cavity 29 via nozzle 13. The polycarbonate resin used herein is one not containing phosphide of phosphorous acid ester as a heat stabilizing agent. Upon injection of polycarbonate resin, the resin temperature is better as lower as possible if it is capable of being uniformly kneaded in a heating cylinder 12 in the resin injecting part 1, and it is preferable to be restrained at 326 deg.C even if in the highest. Where the polycarbonate not containing a heat stabilizing agent is molded, it is necessary to restrain the stabilizing residence time in four minutes or shorter.
