    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor capable of obtaining a good cycle characteristic and having a good energy density. SOLUTION: In this capacitor, polarizable positive and a negative electrodes 1, 2 are arranged through a separator 4 in which electrolyte is impregnated so that the positive electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2 are opposed to each other. The positive electrode 1 has a black lead material having an average layer surface space of 0.339 nm or less, and the negative electrode 2 has a carbon material having an average layer surface space of more than 0.355 nm and 0.380 nm or less. This leads to a good cycle characteristic. In addition, the positive electrode 1 may have a carbon material and a material which reversibly repeats the oxidation and the reduction with doping and dedoping of lithium ion, and the negative electrode 2 may have a carbon material having an average layer surface space of more than 0.355 nm and 0.380 nm or less.       SOLUTION: The lithium/iron sulfide primary battery is equipped with a positive electrode 2 having a positive mix containing iron sulfide as a positive active material, a negative electrode 3 using lithium as a negative active material, and an electrolyte prepared by dissolving an electrolyte in an organic solvent. The iron sulfide of the positive active material is covered with gelatine. Thereby, increase in open circuit voltage during storage can be suppressed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode material capable of providing high energy density, and having a long cycle life, and to provide a battery using it.
      SOLUTION: This negative electrode material contains silicon alloy powder having a phase 11 of Si, and a copper/aluminum-containing phase 12 containing Cu and Al. The phase 11 of Si is dispersed in the copper/aluminum-containing phase 12. The copper/aluminum-containing phase 12 contains at least either of an intermetallic compound phase containing Cu and Al as constituent elements and a solid solution phase. When a powder X-ray diffraction analysis regarding the silicon alloy powder is executed, a high-intensity peak can be provided in a range, belonging to the copper/aluminum-containing phase 12, where a diffraction angle 2θ is 43.5-44.5°.
