An electrical insulation material for capacitors can be obtained from this composition.

CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. comprises at least one kind of crystalline substance of which at least one kind exists as crystalline particles and at least one kind of amorphous substance of which at least one kind has a glass transition point lower than the m.p. of the crystalline particle. The crystalline particles in the compsn. are bonded to the amorphous substance by the adhesive power of the amorphous substance under heating, and the combination of both substances includes at least one epoxy resin and at least one curative. The compsn. is prepd. by heating a mixture of both substances at a temp. lower than the m.p. of at least one kind of the crystalline substance and higher than the glass transition point of at least one kind of the amorphous substance, cooling to solidify the mixture, and pulverizing the resulting solid product.

The characteristic of the composition is that (i) the mixture is a melt mixture; (ii) the curing agent contains a crystalline curing agent in at least a part thereof; (iii) the amount of a noncrystalline substance contained in the mixture is 0-50wt.% based on the total amount of a crystalline substance and the noncrystalline substance contained in the mixture and (iv) the powder of the mixture is nontacky.
