摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying acetic acid by which purified acetic acid is efficiently recovered from an aqueous solution of the acetic acid with a low heat quantity. SOLUTION: A raw material solution 1 at 10-50wt.% acetic acid concentration is introduced into an extractor 2 and an extracting agent 3 containing isopropyl acetate in an amount of 0.6-3.0 times based on the raw material solution 1 is fed to the extractor 2 to extract the acetic acid into the phase of the extracting agent. The extracted solution 4 is then fed to an azeotropic distillation column 6 to carry out the azeotropic distillation of water with the extracting agent. Thereby, the dehydrated purified acetic acid 19 is recovered from the column bottom.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain concentrated pure acetic acid and a good recovered raw material gas in good thermal efficiency with simple devices from an acetic acid-containing reaction product gas produced by reacting ethylene with oxygen in the presence of a catalyst and water in a gaseous phase. SOLUTION: The method for purifying the acetic acid comprises introducing a reaction product gas 1 into a separation tower 2, feeding an azeotropic agent 3 capable of forming the lowest azeotropic mixture with water into the separation tower 2, distilling the reaction product gas under the utilization of the heat held in the reaction product gas, obtaining the acetic acid-rich separation tower bottom liquid 10 from the tower bottom, cooling the separation tower overhead gas 4 to separate the gas into a non-condensed gas 9 and a condensed liquid, washing the non-condensed as with acetic acid in an absorption tower, recovering the washed gas as an absorption tower overhead gas 27, distilling the separation tower bottom liquid 10 and the absorption tower bottom liquid 28 in the presence of an azeotropic agent 11 in a distillation tower 11, and subsequently recovering the objective concentrated pure acetic acid 30 from the tower bottom.

Washing is pref carried out at about 15-40 deg.C. By this method, the palladium supported catalyst can effectively be regenerated.
