SOLUTION: An exterior wall unit 2, in which the peripheries of a pair of supports 5 made of hollow aluminum extruded profiles are surrounded by foundation materials 6 made of extruded profiles and an external facing material 7 is lined and which constitutes a part of a gate sleeve, and an interior wall unit 3 are disposed in upright at an interval, and a section between upper ends is covered with a cover material functioning as a coping in combination. The sash sheave units of upper and lower sections, in which sash sheaves are supported rotatably at both ends on the inside of a slender box-shaped supporter between the interior and exterior both wall units 3, 2, are installed as sliding-door guide members. A sliding door 1 is mounted slidably between the sliding-door guide members under the state in which the sliding door 1 is floated from a ground surface. When an opening section is closed, the front end of the extracted sliding door 1 is supported by a door-stop column 4, and no useless load is applied. Since no rail is laid on the ground surface, the sliding door device is not a hindrance to the passage of the aged and a wheelchair.
