    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make performance hard to degrade to vibration and a shock even at a high temperature by arranging a silicone elastic body in the whole or a part of a place where a battery and a battery case can contact with each other, and holding a shock absorbing function between the battery and the battery case. SOLUTION: Cylindrical lithium ion secondary batteries are used by eight pieces as batteries 2, and are arranged in two stages in a battery case 4 through a spacer 3. A material by working silicone rubber in an o ring shape is used on outer peripheral surfaces of the batteries 2 as a shock absorbing material 1 of a silicone elastic body, and is fitted in so as to be brought into close contact with the outer peripheral surfaces of the batteries 2. At this time, an O ring is arranged so as to exist between an inner wall projecting part of the battery case 4 and the outer peripheral surfaces of the batteries 2 and between an end part of the spacer 3, a bone part and the outer peripheral surfaces of the batteries 2. In the silicone elastic body such as silicone rubber, its maximum working temperature is about 280 deg.C, and a shock absorbing function is not lost even at a high temperature, and even if vibration and a shock are applied, the batteries 2 hardly degrade in performance.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress upward elongation of electric collectors of respective electrode plates and prevent separation of active materials from the electric collectors and rupture of the electric collectors by installing an acid resistant frame, which applies pressure to respective electrode plates composing a unit of electrodes, in a space between the unit of electrodes and a battery jar lid. SOLUTION: In a sealed lead-acid battery, an acid resistant frame 3 to apply pressure to respective electrode plates constituting a unit 1 of electrode plates is installed in a space between the unit 1 of electrode plates and a battery jar lid 4. Consequently, the upper ends of respective plates are pushed by the acid resistant frame 3 and the upward elongation of electric collectors of respective electrode plates can be suppressed. As a result, separation of electrode active materials from the electric collectors due to the upward elongation of the electric collectors and rupture of the electric collectors can be prevented, so that taking out of energy of the battery can be carried out without a trouble. Moreover, since the electric collectors are not extended upward over a retainer, short circuit between electrodes with different polarity, which generally occurs above the retainer can be avoided and a risk of firing can be also avoided.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a sealed storage battery for improving the charging/ discharging characteristic, and for preventing dispersion in the capacity. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of unit cells 2 are formed. The layered body of the unit cells 2 is stored in an outer case 3, and is pressurized from the outer case 3 in the direction of formation. The outer case 3 comprises a lower dish 4 made of resin for loading the layered body of the unit cells 2, a pressurization case body 5 made of metal, which is to be coated on the layered body of the unit cell 2, and which pressurizes each unit cell 2, and an upper lid 6 made of resin, which is coated on the pressurization case body 5 made of metal, and which is welded to the lower dish 4 made of resin. A claw part 7 is protruded upward on the side part of the pressurization case body 5 made of metal, and the claw part 7 is hooked on a part of the upper lid 6 made of resin, while pressurization force is given to the pressurization case body 5 made of metal, from the upper lid 6 made of resin, which is welded to the lower dish 4 made of resin.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To infiltrate electrolyte evenly into the middle section of each plate in a plate group within a short time and improve stable battery characteristics, by accommodating a plate group in a battery jar such that it is wrapped with a retainer which includes silica in the center of a plane facing the group, is bag-shaped, and has liquid retention lower than that of a retainer between plates in a pressurized state in the battery jar, and by injecting electrolyte for battery-jar formation. SOLUTION: A bag-shaped retainer 4 decreases liquid infiltration rate outside of a plate group, prevents an electrolyte from penetrating rapidly, and allows the electrolyte to move easily in the plates. Therefore, it is made of nonwoven glass fiber material which has liquid retention lower than that of a retainer 3 in the plate group. Furthermore, the bag-shaped retainer 4 has a structure where surfaces other than its top are continuous so as to produce adhesion to the plate group and supply the electrolyte evenly all around plates. Because a silica adding section 6 is placed in the center of a plane facing the surface of the plate group, the electrolyte can easily move to the center of the plate group during the electrolyte injection, and adhesion to the whole plate group becomes higher.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed lead-acid battery to restrain stratification of an electrolyte without greatly lowering diffusibility of the electrolyte and prolonging an injection time for the electrolyte. SOLUTION: Silica powder is not carried in a lower side region portion 13b3 of a retainer 13 located in a lower region of a pole plate group 14 to apply group pressurizing force to make stratification of an electrolyte difficult. Silica powder is carried in a band-like shape to a counter portion of a positive pole plate 11 in a boundary area between the lower region portion 13b3 and an upper region portion above the portion 13b3 (silica carrying band-like portion 13a in the lower side). The upper region portion is vertically partitioned into two non-silica carrying region portions 13b1, 13b2, and silica is carried in a band-like shape to a counter portion of the positive pole 11 in a boundary area between the the two region portions (silica carrying band-like portion 13a in the upper side). Length dimensions in the vertical directions of region portions 13b1-13b3 are made to be 10 cm or less respectively.
