    • PURPOSE:To provide a sealing mechanism for an artificial heart to maintain the shaft seal of a driving shaft to drive the axial flow pump to blood for a long period, by filling sealed liquid possible to suppress blood clotting and to be cleaned off in a sealed liquid bag communicating to the sealed liquid room of the artificial heart main body to comprise the artificial heart. CONSTITUTION:An artificial heart main body 3 to constitute a artificial heat used inserting into a cardiac chamber of a human body is provided with a cylindrical pump part 4, a driving part 5, connected to the base end part of the pump part, to drive an axial flow pump via a driving shaft, and a casing 9, a nozzle part 6 is formed on the tip, engaged to the periphery of the pump part. It has a dynamic pressure bearing 20 to support the base end of the driving shaft, a one directional dynamic pressure bearing 22 to support the tip end, and a sealed liquid room 21. The sealed liquid, to which protein decomposing enzyme secreted by heat resistant bacteria is mixed, to suppress blood clotting in the one directional dynamic pressure bearing is filled in a sealed liquid bag 12 communicating to the sealed liquid room.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a sealing mechanism for an artificial heart, which enables a pump for a main body of the artificial heart to accurately function without maintenance for a prolonged period of time and maintain complete shaft sealing. CONSTITUTION:A main body of an artificial heart comprises a pump 4 of a cylindrical shape and a driving part 5 installed at the base of the pump 4 and for driving the pump 4 through a driving shaft 10. The driving shaft 10 has a lower portion carried in a kinetic pressure bearing 31 on the side of the driving part 5 and an upper portion carried in a one-way kinetic pressure bearing 11. A chamber 12 for a lubricating liquid is formed between the kinetic pressure bearing 31 and the one-way kinetic pressure bearing 11, such that the driving shaft 10 extends therethrough. The main body of the artificial heart also has a casing 9. A plurality of suction openings 17 are axially formed in a portion of the casing 9 corresponding to the chamber 12 for a lubricating liquid. A filter 13 for hemofiltration covers the suction openings 17.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a balloon pumping system allowing the use as an IABP balloon to a serious disease case in which the heart function is remarkably reduced by contracting the proximal part of a balloon inserted into the aorta from the remote part of the balloon with a phase at heat contracting period, and operating the proximal part of the balloon as a valve. CONSTITUTION:Since a pumping large balloon 6 and a valve small balloon 7 are simultaneously expanded at heart expanding period, expanding period pressure is raised to increase the coronary arterial blood stream quantity. At heart contracting period, for example, when a left ventricle 1 is in contracting period, an aortic valve 2 is opened to carry the blood to an aorta 3. The load on the left ventricle 1 reduced in contracting pressure is reduced since the pumping large balloon 6 is contracted, while the valve small balloon 7 acts as a valve since it remains expanded by a control system, to prevent the counter flow of the blood from a lower aorta 6 and suck the blood from the left ventricle 1 by a negative pressure. Thus, the balloon has a positive pumping effect and allows the use for a serious disease case in which the heart function is remarkably reduced.
