CONSTITUTION:When scramble video signals are outputted from a tuner circuit 14, a decoder 70 outputs high level signals from an AV control output terminal (e). An AV control terminal (f) becomes high level and the terminal 30a of a selection control circuit 30 becomes high level, and the selection control circuit 30 connects an input selector circuit 22 to 22a side, and connects an output selector circuit 23 to 23b side. Scrambling video signals from the tuner circuit 14 are inputted to the decoder 70 and scrambled, and the video signals from the decoder 70 are inputted to an RF converter 18. In such a case, the decoder 70 outputs continuously the high level signals from the AV control output terminal (e). At the time of a VTR reproducing mode, the selection control circuit 30 sets the output selector circuit 23 to 23a side.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of noises due to lock release even if a long drop-out occurs, by providing a control means which selects the second means for a prescribed time after the end of the drop-out when the long drop- out occurs. CONSTITUTION:If the period of the occurrence of drop-out is long, the trailing edge of a control signal (c) is delayed by a prescribed time behind that of a drop-out detection pulse (b), and a control signal (d) is in the high level during this time. Thus, the first switch 9 is turned off during the period of drop-out. Since the first switch 9 is turned off in this case, the second loop is formed to lock a PLL circuit 18 before turning-on of the first switch 9 and the generation of noises is prevented if the period of drop-out is so long that the lock of the PLL circuit 18 is released. That is, the reference of the period of long drop-out is determined in a control circuit 15 by the metastable period of the first monostable multivibrator 50, and an output is obtained from the first AND gate 51 if drop-out longer than this reference period occurs.

    • PURPOSE:To carry out noise elimination under reduced waveform distortion by generating control pulse and holding output of the loop filter in case there is omission of carrier in a reproduction FM signal or generation of phase discontinuity by switching. CONSTITUTION:When there is no dropout in the reproduction FM signal or when it is not the time for head changeover, no control pulse is outputted from the dropout detection circuit 31 and a switch S is in ON state. Next, for phase discontinuity due to switching and dropout, a control pulse is prepared by a shaping circuit 32, and the switch S is in OFF state. As a result, in regard to the terminal voltage of the hold capacitor C the value immediately before the control pulse attains H level is held, therefore, the oscillation frequency of the VCO28 is held at the frequency of the reproduction FM signal immediately before the control pulse is outputted. Thus the FM demodulation output is hold at the value immediately before the noise and noise is eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To separate a chroma signal without deteriorating the characteristic by converting a signal of a band including the chroma signal into a low frequency, supplying it to a comb-line filter utilizing a CCD so as to separate the chroma signal subject to low frequency conversion. CONSTITUTION:A video signal of a band centering the subcarrier of a chroma signal is extracted by an HPF 4 and fed to a frequency conversion circuit 5. Even after the signal is frequency-converted into a low frequency by the circuit 5, when the luminance signal component and the chroma signal are in a prescribed relation, the luminance signal component and chroma signal are separated by using the comb-line filter 7 utilizing the 1H CCD delay line 8. In the actual VTR, the PS(crosstalk prevention processing) is applied. Then the filter 7 is constituted as shown in figure and when the filter 7 introduces a signal not subject to PS processing by a changeover switch 15, the output of an adder 13 is selected and in the case of the signal subject to PS processing, the output of a subtracter 14 is selected. Thus, the low frequency conversion chroma signal is separated without deterioration in the characteristic.

By first switches Sl1 and S2 to synchronize to a switching pulse RF, the reproducing output of the main heads MH1 and MH2 is switched, made into a continuous signal, and the reproducing output of the sub-heads SH1 and SH2 is switched and made into the continuous signal. In this case, a reproducing horizontal synchronizing signal inputted and separated to first and second synchronizing separating circuits 5 and 6 is aligned.

Multiple signals formed by adding the FM-modulated signals of the modulators 5 and 7 to each other are outputted from the adder 8 to a head 10 through an amplifier 9 and recorded on a tape 11 by means of the head 10.

In closing a switch S2 at the audio exclusive mode, a resistor R3 is connected in parallel with a variable resistor VR1 and an FM modulation circuit 20c for the video signal brings the frequency of the output signal to, e.g., 3.4MHz or over. Thus, the frequency difference between the FM audio signal and the FM video signal is widened and the disturbance to the reproduced FM audio signal is decreased. The recording amplifier 24 is designed so as to reduce the output level when the frequency of the recording signal is increased.

When an S-VHS tape is loaded to the VTR, when the instruction of the S-VHS is executed and when the recording mode of only the FM sound signal is instructed, the modulating circuit 1 is selected by the action of a logic circuit 3. In such a case, when the recording of only the FM sound signal is executed, the non- modulation carrier signal 1 of the higher side is always supplied to a head 6 for video. Thus, the voice quality can be improved while maintaining a compatibility.

An undesired component is eliminated from the output of the circuits 3, 5 by the 1st and 2nd BRFs 4, 6 and result is synthesized by adder/subtractor 7, 8.
