    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a drive control system of a transfer device which can stop the traveling of a film when the transfer device is not required, and can resume the traveling of the film from its standstill state. SOLUTION: The rotary velocity of a cylinder and the traveling velocity of the transfer device are synchronized by control based on a pulse signal outputted in accordance with the number of revolutions of the cylinder. Then, while controlling the rotation of the cylinder by the pulse signal, the film for transfer is brought into a standstill state from its traveling state, and then, the film for transfer at a standstill state is made to travel in a docking state by moving the film for transfer from a first traveling path to a second traveling path to the cylinder in a rotating state. In this case, the operation of the transfer device is started by a pulse signal which is different from the pulse signal generated from the cylinder, and after the start of the operation, the film traveling velocity of the transfer device is synchronized with the rotating velocity of the cylinder by control. After that, after the rotating velocities of both transfer device and the cylinder coincide with each other, the control of synchronizing the rotating velocity of the cylinder and the film traveling velocity of the transfer device takes over based on the pulse signal from the cylinder.
