    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact developing device which sufficiently agitates a developer and generates an image without density unevenness. SOLUTION: The developing device includes a developing part including: a developer carrier 2 for latent image development having a fixed magnet therein; a developer supply member 3 which supplies the developer to the developer carrier 2 from below the developer carrier 2; a developer collecting means which separates the developer from the developer carrier 2 to drop the developer to the developer supply member 3 in a region where a normal magnetic flux density generated by the fixed magnet is low, after an electrostatic latent image is developed in a region where the normal magnetic flux density is high; and a regulating member 6a which is located in a collection path through which the developer is separated from the developer carrier 2 and is collected to the developer supply member 3, and regulates a path of the developer. The developer supply member 3 serves also as a first developer conveying means for conveying the developer in one of longitudinal directions of the developer carrier 2, and the regulating member 6a serves also as a second developer conveying means for conveying the developer in a direction opposite to the developer conveying direction of the first developer conveying means.       SOLUTION: An enclosure 2 includes: an image forming unit 12 including image carriers 12Y, 12M, 12C and 12K; paper feeding units 10 and 10; an exposure unit 11; an intermediate transfer unit 13; and toner cartridges 14Y, 14M, 14C and 14K. The paper feeding unit 10 is configured so that a transfer paper being consumables can be supplied from the front part of the enclosure 2, the image forming unit 12 is configured so that a process unit including a photoreceptor being consumables can be replaced from the front part of the enclosure 2 and it is configured so that the toner cartridges being consumables can be replaced from the front part of the enclosure 2. The intermediate transfer unit 13 is configured so as to be attached and detached from the right side of the enclosure orthogonal to the replacement direction of the consumables and the exposure unit 11 is configured so as to be attached and detached from the left side.
