摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method or the like capable of suppressing a processing time and a necessary memory capacity, and capable of carrying out positioning in correspondence to a difference of size such as margins in scanning and in printing, in regard to a document wherein an order of entry items or the like, relative positions of a chart interior, or the like are limited, but entered items and a structure are comparatively the same (quasi-standard).
SOLUTION: In the image processing method, a specific area specified in a document image is stored as a template, characteristic information of an interior and a periphery of the specific area in regard to an image for creating the template is acquired to store its characteristic, and a position the same as the specific area with respect to an input image is extracted. It is determined whether or not the specific area is one part of a chart frame on a template creating image, and when it is a chart, an interior of the chart including the frame surrounding the specific area is analyzed, it is recognized what position on a chart structure has been specified, and the position is stored.
