摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such as a mechanical damage of an original tray drive unit in a situation that a sensor detecting an appropriate sheet feed position fails or that software-based control cannot be exerted.SOLUTION: An automatic original transport device includes: an original table loading thereon an original; a bottom plate and a bottom-plate lifting shaft lifting the original table; a sensor and a filler for detecting an appropriate sheet feed position; a bottom-plate lifting motor fitted into the bottom-plate lifting shaft; a coupling of the bottom-plate lifting motor and a cam provided at the coupling; and a cylindrical guide located coaxially with the bottom-plate lifting shaft, and provided with a stepped part on which the cam provided at the coupling rides before a mechanical load is applied beyond the appropriate sheet feed position. If the bottom plate reaches the position at which the mechanical load is applied beyond the appropriate sheet feed position, then a surface of the cam provided at the cylindrical guide moves and detaches the coupling of the bottom-plate lifting motor in a direction of the bottom-plate lifting shaft so as to release fitting between the bottom-plate lifting shaft lifting the bottom plate and the bottom-plate lifting motor.
