    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphorus adsorbent capable of suppressing alkalization in water for phosphorus adsorption, and also to provide a method for manufacturing fertilizer using the same. SOLUTION: The phosphorus adsorbent is formed by mixing gypsum with coal ash. Phosphor adsorption ability is maintained irrespective of the mixing of the gypsum, and the alkalization of water is more suppressed as the rate of the gypsum to the coal ash is increased. Through a fixing process, powder with the gypsum mixed with the coal ash is solidified into agglomerates or granulated into a size equal to or larger than a predetermined one by a neutral solidifying agent. Through a phosphorus adsorption process, the solidified or granulated phosphorus adsorbent is immersed in the water for phosphorus adsorption for a predetermined time. Through a fertilizer generation process, the solidified or granulated phosphorus adsorbent after the phosphorus adsorption process is made to directly generate the fertilizer or by being pulverized or by allowing the outer surface to be rubbed off.
