    • PURPOSE: To provide a stencil sheet capable of being directly and lightly engraved from an electronic original formed by a computer or a word processor without using an expensive engraving unit, easily perforated with water solvent at the time of engraving and having excellent resistance to emulsion ink containing water at the time of printing and a method for engraving the same. CONSTITUTION: (1) The stencil sheet 5 is obtained by laminating a solvent soluble resin film 1 containing polyvinyl acetal resin having 2 to 89mol% of acetalization degree to a porous support 4. (2) The method for engraving the perforated stencil sheet 5 comprises the steps of selectively bringing the solvent into contact with the surface of the film of the sheet 5, dissolving the film 1 of the contact part, and perforating it. (3) The method for engraving the stencil sheet uses the solvent containing organic solvent to be incorporated in water. (4) The method for engraving the stencil sheet uses the organic solvent to be incorporated in water and containing polyhydric alcohol in such at least one hydroxyl group is substituted for 1-4C alkoxy group.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indicate print conditions for attaining a desired print density by calculating a print density at desired pressing force and rotational speed according to a relation between the print density and the ratio of the rotational speed of plate cylinder to the pressing force of sheet against the plate cylinder thereby predicting desired print speed and pressing force. SOLUTION: Printing is conducted under print conditions indicating two or more different ratios of F (pressing force of a sheet against a plate cylinder)/f (rotational speed of a plate cylinder) and print density is measured for printed matters at corresponding positions. A plurality of print densities thus measured are processed statistically and the relation between print density and F/f is determined and then the print density is calculated at desired pressing force F and rotational speed (f) according to the relationship thus determined. Since print density and print conditions of stencil print can be predicted without requiring an excessive test print, waste of print sheet is reduced thus reducing the printing cost and waste of resource.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a screen process printing base paper and also provide a manufacturing method in which a solvent soluble resin film of uniform and thin film thickness can be stuck to a porous substrate easily and inexpensively. CONSTITUTION: (1) A screen process printing base paper 5 is formed by sticking a solvent soluble resin film 1 of 0.1-100μm thickness on a porous substrate 3, and a release agent is contained in the solvent soluble resin film 1 of the screen process printing base paper 5. (2) The containing amount of the release agent referred in (1) is in the range of 0.01-20wt.% to the gross weight of the solvent soluble resin film 1 of the screen process printing base paper 5. (3) The solvent soluble resin film 1 containing the release agent is formed on a non-bonding substrate 2, and the solvent soluble resin film 1 and the porous substrate 3 are stuck together by a bonding agent or heat fusion bonding, and then a non-bonding substrate 2 is released off the solvent soluble resin film 1 containing the release agent in the manufacturing method of the screen process printing base paper 5.

    • PURPOSE: To prepare directly and simply a stencil printing plate with high quality without using an expensive printing plate-manufacturing apparatus by bringing a solvent sprayed from a nozzle into selective contact with the surface of a solvent- soluble film of an original paper for stencil printing prepd. by laminating the solvent- soluble film with a specified value of the angle of contact to the solvent on a porous substrate. CONSTITUTION: A resin soln. prepd. for example, by dissolving a solvent-soluble resin into a solvent is applied on a non-adhesive substrate 2 and it is dried to form a solvent- soluble resin film 1. Then, the solvent-soluble resin film 1 formed on the non-adhesive substrate 2 is laminated e.g. on a porous substrate 4 on the surface of which an adhesive or an adhesive layer 3 is formed. After the non-adhesive substrate 2 is peeled off, a layer 5 e.g. adjusted in such a way that the angle of contact to a solvent is in the range of 40-100 deg. is formed on the face of the solvent-soluble resin film 1. In this original paper 6 for stencil printing, a solvent is sprayed on the solvent-soluble resin film 1 under a non-contacting condition by means of a solvent spraying apparatus equipped with a solvent spraying nozzle and the parts brought into contact with the solvent are perforated with the solvent.
