    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a production control information proper to an optical disk substrate without adding a new process to the conventional production line of an optical disk. SOLUTION: The optical disk substrate is represented by 10 and a pattern 13 consisting of the part with a reflection film or a recording film 11 (subsequently called a metallic film) and the part 12 without the same is formed on one part of the innermost peripheral part of the substrate 10. The pattern 13 of the metallic film has the form of bar code information and can be read with a prescribed reproducing device. In the bar code information (pattern) 13, for instance, not only the common information such as the content of information recorded and the rod number of stamper but also the information specific to the substrate such as the production date and the serial number of the media are recorded in a reproducing personal media. In addition, the limitation for duplication permitted to the media, for example, the information of permission or no permission is also recorded. When the region on which the bar code information is recorded is set as an accessible region even in an ordinary reproducing device, the optical disk media having the function as a copy guard is provided.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to detect both signals with high reliability by detecting pits or wobbling by controlling tracking without using a tracking error signal in the neighborhood of a pit position or in a pit detecting window, or controlling to decrease a gain of a tracking control system. SOLUTION: Tracking control is carried out without using a tracking error detection signal at a pit position, and in the position not adjoining the pit, wobbling signal is detected by equalizing each output amplitude of each pair of recording marks in a detection output of a photo-detector which is divided into two straight and opposed to one or more pairs of track tangents of an optical pickup. Otherwise, by detecting a pit by dividing plural groups of photo- detectors into two blocks to the track tangent and controlling a gain, it is possible to reduce deterioration of a signal to noise ratio of a pit signal caused by either meandering of tracking by pit or symmetry of a recording mark in a pit part.

This deflecting mirror 41 is rotated and displaced by a drive motor 44 to be drive- controlled by a control means according to the tracking error signal from a detection optical system 17 provided in the fixed optical system 7. Consequently, tracking by the displacement of an objective lens 3 itself becomes unnecessary, and it becomes unnecessary to mount a tracking servo mechanism in the movable optical system 6. Thus, the movable optical system can be lightened, and the high-speed seek operation can be attained.

A magnetic head 41 is arranged as the magnetic field generating member in the upper side of the disk 31 and a coil is wound to the central leg of a magnetic path material, which is almost mountain-shaped in a head 41. Then, the direction of a current to the coil is changed and the magnetic field of recording/erasing is impressed to the disk 31. This, head 41 is fitted to the tip of an oscillating member 42 and supported with being freely movable in the radius direction and thickness direction of the disk 31.
