    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the focus servo deviation by securing the focus servo pull-in even though the thickness or reflectance of an optical disk to be recorded and reproduced is changed. SOLUTION: The focus servo pull-in is executed around the center of oscillation of an objective lens by driving a pickup 16a while making the objective lens in the optical pickup 16a oscillate by a sine wave generating circuit 12. To put it concretely, a switch SW2 is changed over to a compensation circuit 11 from the sine wave generating circuit 12 by a signal from a pull-in control circuit 21, and a focus error zero-cross signal is obtained from a focus error signal obtained by detecting the reflected light from a medium 18 by a focus error detecting circuit 14 and an RF signal which is the total reflected light obtained by a reflected light detecting circuit 15, then the focus servo pull-in is executed by detecting that the focus error zero-cross signal is generated with the nearly equal intervals.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus servo acquisition controller which can perform safe and secure focus servo acquisition and defocusing detection even if a recording medium varies in thickness or reflection factor. SOLUTION: The controller is equipped with total reflection signal generating means 9 and 10 which detect the total reflection from the recording medium 1 and generate a total reflection signal, focusing point error signals generating means 8 and 11 which detect defocusing on the recording medium and generate a focusing point error signal, an objective driving means 6 which generates a sine-wave signal for moving up and down an objective 4 over the recording medium by sine-wave vibration and a cosine wave signal having a 90 deg. phase delay behind the sine-wave signal, and an OR means 12 which ORs the total reflection signal, focusing point error signal, and cosine-wave signal, thereby controlling the servo to the focusing position in the timing of the focusing point signal outputted by the OR means.

    • PURPOSE:To maintain the spot interval of two beams with high accuracy by photodetecting two beams reflected from a recording medium, calculating difference between the signals of the two beams, taking out relative position error signals in two directions and controlling the optical axis of one beam. CONSTITUTION:A quadripartite photodetector 4 is provided to photodetect the first and second beams reflected from a master disk 3 of an optical disk, and a relative position error signal detecting means 1 is provided to take out the signals in two directions from signals to be obtained by the first and second beams. Further, an optical axis control means 7 is provided to control the optical axis of one of the two beams as mentioned above based on the relative position error signals obtained by this means 1. Next, the two beams reflected from the master disk 3 are photodetected by the element 4, the difference between the signals obtained by those beams is calculated by using the means 1, the relative position error signals in two directions are taken out, and the optical axis of one beam is controlled by the means 7. Thus, the spot interval of two beams can be easily maintained with high accuracy and further with simple configuration.

    • PURPOSE:To attain recording with the excellent arrangement of an exposure pitch by detecting the fluctuation of a feeding position of a rotary controller, applying feedback so that deflection quantity is variable and connecting in irradiating position of a laser beam so as to cancel the fluctuation. CONSTITUTION:A turnable 2 is moved by the driving of a feeding motor 8, the displacement is detected by a position detection means 29 through a linear encoder 30 to output a feeding speed deviation signal of the turntable 2 is fed back to deflectors 25,26 to vary the deflection quantity, then even when a feeding deviation is varied with the position of the turntable 2, the change is corresponded with the correction of an image forming position of the laser beam by the variable deflection quantity and gooves or pit strings at a constant interval are formed on a glass disk 1 without needing any mechanical adjustment.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a circuit for highly accurately forming an information pit in a master optical disk in an optimal shape and correcting a modulated signal from a signal modulator. SOLUTION: A signal modulator 21 outputs pulse modulated information to be written in an optical disk to a control circuit 22. This digital signal is extended by an OR circuit 31 and a delay element D0 and inputted to delay elements D1, D2,..., Dn and an AND circuit 32. A multiplexer 33 selects one of outputted signals from the delay elements D1, D2,..., Dn. A multiplexer 34 selects one from reference analog signals V1, V2,..., Vn. A switching element 35 is switched by a logical product signal outputted from the AND circuit 32, and the analog signal selected by the multiplexer 34 is switched ON/OFF. A pulse width detector 38 detects the pulse width of the digital signal inputted from the signal modulator 21 and, based on this detected signal, selection of one of the outputted signals from the delay elements D1, D2,..., Dn is performed by the multiplexer 33 and selection of one of the reference analog signals V1, V2,..., Vn is performed by the multiplexer 34.
