    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the strength of joint parts jointed by fastening bolts at the end parts of each cross beam by forming the longitudinal end parts of each longitudinal beam of fiber reinforced concrete over the specified length. SOLUTION: A ladder type sleeper is composed of right and left longitudinal beams 1 installed on ballast, parallel with each other in the continuous direction of the ballast so as to support rails 2, and cross beams 3 installed between the longitudinal beams 1 at specified spaces in the longitudinal direction so as to connect the right and left longitudinal beams 1 to each other. The longitudinal beam 1 is provided with a plurality of high strength steel wires 1b inserted through over the whole length so as to lead in prestress. Insert nuts are embedded in both longitudinal end parts of the longitudinal beam 1, or bolt holes are formed therein and used to thread-fasten or pass connecting bolts for jointing the longitudinal beams 1 to each other through joint plates at the time of laying the ladder type sleeper. The generation of a crack to the peripheral part of a connecting bolt joint part of each longitudinal beam end part is thereby prevented, and the connecting bolt can be easily fastened into a correct position.

A mass member 52a for lowering a resonance point is added to the rail support body 1.
