    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil based deformation followable impervious material, in which a material can be easily supplied and quality variation is small by using a standardized material and which has high impervious performance and fluidity to allow its execution and which suppresses occurrence of consolidation settlement and has long-term durability, and further to provide a method for producing the soil based deformation followable impervious material.SOLUTION: The soil based deformation followable impervious material D is obtained by mixing high swellable bentonite BH having swelling power of 20 mL/2g or more in the fresh water, low swellable bentonite BL having swelling power of 5 mL/2g or less in the fresh water, sea water W and sand S having a uniformity coefficient Uc of 5 to 10. The soil based deformation followable impervious material D includes sand S in a volume ratio of 0.05 to 0.3 when total volume immediately after mixing is assumed to be 1 and a coefficient of permeability immediately after mixing is 3×10cm/s or less.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving soft ground under permeable upper ground, which is used for improving the soft ground with a surface layer section including the permeable upper ground. SOLUTION: A drain material 10 is inserted into the soft ground 2, existing between a lower permeable base layer 4 and the permeable upper ground 7 existing in a ground surface section, from a ground surface. The drain material 10 is equipped with a removed part 14, the length of which is greater by a predetermined length c than the depth of the permeable upper ground, and a permanently embedded part which is disconnectably connected to a lower end of the removed part 14; and the removed part 14 is equipped with an impermeable part 50 for preventing the intrusion of water into the permeable upper ground. A lower end of the permanently embedded part of the drain material 10 is inserted up to a desired improvement depth which does not reach the depth of the base layer 4; desired soil improvement is performed by discharging soil pore water in the soft ground 2 through an upper end of the drain material 10; and after that, the removed part 14 of the drain material is removed from the ground surface.
