    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas friction pump with a flying (floating) bearing support rotor or a bell-shaped rotor having an easy-to-maintain structure and bearings with high rigidity disposed near the gravity center of the rotor.
      SOLUTION: In this gas friction pump, a rotor shaft 4 and a rotating pump action structure portion 5 are the components of the rotor. The rotor shaft 4 comprises a fixed pump action structure portion 6 which is supported by two radial bearings 8 and 9 disposed at an interval and an axial bearing 16 and in which one of two radial bearings 8 and 9 is installed nearer the gravity center of the rotor than the other and a rotating pump action structure portion 5 fixed onto the rotating rotor shaft 4. In an advantageous design, a gas bearing may be formed as a module, and fixedly fitted to a cylindrical housing portion.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact measuring device of rotor temperature which can use easier means to achieve accurate and reproducible result while avoiding conventional defects.
      SOLUTION: This invention is associated with non-contact measuring device of rotor temperature. This device comprises rotor and stator, magnet on the rotor and electrical coils allocated on the stator, electronic means for measuring voltage applied to these coils, and drive unit for rotating the rotor. In order to allow an improved temperature measurement which also enables measuring within the temperature limits, it is proposed that voltage induced into the coil by the magnet should be measured and that this voltage should be converted into signal proportional to temperature.
