Thereby, the wiring part 7 is protected from changes of capacitance due to the holding fingers.

The input section is comprised of a first plate which has a transparent conductive layer on one surface and in which electrode terminals are provided on confronted two sides, and a second plate in which transparent conductive layers each in a short strip shape having a fixed width are provided approximately in parallel on one surface, and the input section is configured by disposing the first and second plates in such a manner that the electrode terminals and the transparent conductive layers in the short strip shape are approximately orthogonal and the transparent conductive layers are confronted to each other at a fixed interval. The circuit section is connected to the input section and detects touch points of the first and second plates. The circuit section has at least: a power source for applying a voltage to the electrode terminals via a first resistor; first potential measuring means provided between the first resistor and the electrode terminals; second potential measuring means which is provided so as to be connected with terminal portions of the transparent conductive layers in the short-strip shape and can be changed over with a ground by a switch; and calculation means for calculating the number and position coordinates of touch points from output of the first and second potential measuring means.
