    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating cooker which is insusceptible to a disturbance light, dirt on a top plate and dirt on a heating object, and can control a temperature of the heating object by an infrared sensor with a simple structure.SOLUTION: An infrared sensor 26 outputs an initial detection value of approximately constant greatness with respect to a temperature of a heating target 20 when the temperature of the heating target 20 is below a lower detection limit temperature. The infrared sensor 26 outputs a detection signal having an amplitude and an increase rate increasing with increase in temperature of the heating target 20 near a control temperature range. A control section 29 includes a storage section 29a for storing a predetermined value defined as an initial detection value, reduces output power of the induction heating coils 21a, 21b or stop the heating when increment of output value with respect to the initial detection value output from the infrared sensor 26 exceeds a predetermined value. Further, when an output value from the infrared sensor 26 falls below the initial detection value, the control section 29 replaces the initial detection value stored in the storage section 29a with the output value from the infrared sensor 26 that falls below the initial detection value.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating cooker in which arc discharge of a switching means is detected and heating is stopped to make the cooker safe. SOLUTION: The induction heating cooker comprises an induction heating coil 3, a plurality of resonance capacitors 4, 5 connected to this, a switching means 7 to drive the induction heating coil 3 and the resonance capacitors 4, 5, a switching-over means 6 to switch over the resonance capacitors 4, 5, an arc discharge detection means 9 to detect generation of arc discharge at a contact of the switching-over means 6, and a control means 8 which performs control of the switching means 7 based on a signal of the arc discharge detection means 9. The control means 8 stops heating for a prescribed time when the arc discharge detection means 9 detects arc discharge. Thereby, when generation of the arc discharge at the contact of the switching-over means 6 is detected, heating is stopped, thus, a failure such as damages by fire of the composition member of the switching-over means 6 is eliminated, and the safe induction heating cooker is provided.
