    • PURPOSE:In an air electrode having excellent polarization characteristic, to adsorb the metal phthalocyanine to the surface of a carbon member, by solving the metal phthalocyanine having the alkyl-amino-methyl group into the water solution of low cendensation volatile acid and after impregnating the carbon material and drying heating it to disperse the volatile acid. CONSTITUTION:Phthalocyanine of iron, nickel, cobalt, copper, etc. is preferable as the metal phthalocyanine while the mono-methyle amino-methyl, dimethyl amino-methyl, monoethyl amino-methyl, diethyl amino-methyl group is preferable as the alkyl amino methyl group. The inorganic acid such as the hydrochloric acid or the organic acid such as the formic acid or the acetic acid is employed as the volatile acid to be dispersed at the temperature of 150-200 deg.C. Since the metal phthalocyanine is fixed uniformly and rigidly on the surface of a carbon member in the air electrodes 2, 3, the polarization characteristic of the air electrode is excellent.

    • PURPOSE:In an air electrode to be employed for an air cell or a fuel cell, to improve the catalytic performance by performing the oxidizing condensation on a metal phthalocyanine which functions as a catalyst thus performing one kind of polymerization and increasing the molecular weight. CONSTITUTION:When performing the polymarization through -N=N- coupling, the tetra-nitro is reduced by the soda sulfide is case of the copper phthalocyanine or performed directly of the amination by the hydroxylamine to produce the polyamino copper phthalocyanine then it is treated by an oxidizing agent to produce a oxidized condensate. Said condensate is molded together with a carbon material or adsorbed to a molded carbon material to produce an air electrode. A kind of carbon black, active carbon, graphite, etc. or their compound is preferable as the carbon material. 1-20wt% of the oxidized condensate is preferable when considering the performance or the strength.
