摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve long-term reliability of an optical element by forming an intermediate film between a polyimlde film and a dielectric multilayered film so as to improve adhesion property of these layers. SOLUTION: A temporary base body 11 consists of a glass substrate 11a as a temporary substrate and a fluorinated polyimide film 11b formed thereon. A multilayered film 13 comprising alternately deposited SiO2 films and TiO2 films as a dielectric multilayered film is formed to total 20 to 30 μm thickness on the surface of the temporary base body 11 by sputtering. A specified coupling agent (OPI coupler) as an adhesion improving agent is applied on the dielectric multilayered film 13 by spin coating. Then the coupling agent is heat treated in air to form an intermediate film 15 to improve adhesion property between the dielectric multilayered film 13 and a polyimide film to be formed in the succeeding process. Then a polyimide film 17 as a substrate is formed on the obtd. sample. Further, a dicing tape 19 as a supporting body in the succeeding dividing process is fixed on the polyimide film 17. Then the sample is diced.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of the polymer optical waveguide which is extremely inexpensive and has superior heat resistance without using a photoprocess and a process for RIE. SOLUTION: This is a method for manufacturing a polymer optical waveguide having at least a substrate 2, a clad layer 3 formed on the substrate 2, and a core 5 formed on the clad layer 3, and the clad layer is formed through a process for forming a polymer film on the substrate 2 and a process for heating and holding the polymer film at temperature above the glass dislocation temperature of the polymer film and below thermal decomposition start temperature and forming a recessed part or projection part on the polymer film by pressing the polymer film by using a metal mold. Here, the polymer film is, preferably, a polyimide film and, specially preferably, a polyimide fluoride film.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric multilayered film filter which is further thinner than a conventional filter by constituting the filter of only a multilayered structural body of alternately laminated high refractive index layers and low refractive index layers. SOLUTION: A low refractive index layer 1 is formed on a substrate 4 and then a high refractive index layer 2 is formed thereon. These processes are alternately repeated, and then the substrate 4 is peeled to obtain a dielectric multilayered film filter 3. Therefore, in the obtd. dielectric multilayered film filter 3, the low refractive index layers 1 and high refractive index layers 2 each consisting of a polymer material are alternately laminated. As for the high refractive index layer 2, a material having a large refractive index, especially >2.0 refractive index is preferable. For example, titanium dioxide or tantalum pentoxide is preferable. As for the low refractive index layer 1, various kinds of polymer materials can be used, and polymethylmethacrylate, polycarbonate or the like is preferable. Thereby, the dielectric multilayered film filter 3 which does not require the substrate 4 for support can be realized so that the filter can be made thin.

SOLUTION: A polyimide optical waveguide is used for the optical waveguide of the optical waveguide parts formed by inserting the optical waveguide insertion type optical element 3 into the groove formed in the optical waveguide and fixing the element by the adhesives 4 and the optical waveguide insertion type optical element of which at least the one surface is formed of a polyimide film is used for the optical waveguide insertion type optical element 3. As a result, at least one of the two adhesive surfaces of the optical waveguide and the optical waveguide insertion type optical element is the polyimide to the polyimide and, therefore, excellent adhesion reliability is obtd. and the characteristics stable even after in a long-time heat cycle test is obtd. Namely, the optical waveguide parts have an effect of the excellent long-term reliability.
