摘要： PURPOSE:To make stable and rapid measurement with good reproducibility and high sensitivity by bringing a soln. mixed with a sample liquid of trihalomethane into contact with a carrier soln. mixed with nicotinic acid amide and NaOH via a microporous membrane. CONSTITUTION:The carrier soln. mixed 5A with the nicotinic acid amide and NaOH is sent to the the inner side of the tube of a separator 2. On the other hand, the 2nd soln. mixed 5B with the sample liquid contg. the trihalomethane and a sodium sulfite soln. or hydrazine sulfate is sent to the outer side of a separator 2 but these two solns. do not mix as the tube consisting of the microporous membrane is made of 'Teflon(R)' and has water repellency. However, the trihalomethane in the 2nd soln. has high volatility and, therefore, diffuses in the form of gas into the micropores. This gas penetrates into the carrier soln. and forms a fluorescent condensate by reacting with the nicotinic acid amide in the presence of the NaOH. The carrier soln. is then cooled 6 to about 10 to 30 deg.C to prevent the degradation in sensitivity by the temp. extinction of the fluorescence. After bubbles are removed, the fluorescent condensate is fluorescently detected and determined in a detecting section 8.

CONSTITUTION:All permitted water supply data added to the card are fetched to a memory 23 by inserting a bought card 11 to a device 20 and the permitted water supply data added to the card are erased. Then, the card is discharged. Each time a flow meter 52 transmits a signal corresponding to unit using quantity, the unit using quantity is subtracted from the permitted water supply data stored in the memory 23 and when the permitted water supply data stored in the memory 23 go to zero, a valve 51 is closed. Then, the water supply is stopped. Thus, the labor for checking the meter, demanding the charge and collecting the charge can be saved.

The flocculation process of the plural components in the sample liquid is known therefrom.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a measuring apparatus by performing operation according to a plurality of specific formulae using a detection means of uncontaminated hypochlorous acid. CONSTITUTION:The circumferential air is sucked in an apparatus by an air pump 8. The air is dehymidified and purified by a filter 1 and a part of this air passes through a flowmeter 2 to become dry gas while the remainder passes through a flowmeter 3 to become carrier gas. The carrier gas flows in the gaseous phase part in an extraction tank 4 and hyprochlorous acid in sample water is diffused to the carrier gas from the surface of the water. The hypochlorous acid-containing carrier gas mixed with the dry gas is guided to a measuring chamber 7 and the concn. of hypochlorous acid is measured by a semiconductor type gas sensor 15 to be inputted to an operation apparatus 9. Subsequently, in the operation apparatus 9, the concn. OCl of hypochlorite ion and the concn. of total free chlorine are operated from the concn. HOCl of hypochlorous acid, pH and water temp. on the basis of formulae I, II. By this method, the reliability of the measuring apparatus can be enhanced.

摘要： PURPOSE:To measure free chlorine by transferring free chlorine in sample water to a gaseous phase while preventing the condensation of moisture on the inner wall of a measuring apparatus by mounting a gaseous phase extraction means, a carrier gas humidity conditioning means and a semiconductor type detection means. CONSTITUTION:Free chlorine in sample water is transferred to carrier gas by a gaseous phase extraction means 15 and the humidity of the carrier gas containing chlorine subjected to gaseous phase extraction is conditioned by a humidity conditioning means 16. A semiconductor type detection means 17 detects the amount of free chlorine transmitted to the carrier gas. Both of free chlorine and bound chlorine are transferred to the carrier gas by the gaseous phase extraction means 15 but the semiconductor type detection means 17 responds only to free chlorine and only hypochlorous acid in the sample water can be separated and measured without receiving the effect of bound chlorine in the sample water. Further, since the steam pressure in the carrier gas is held to saturated steam pressure or less by the humidity conditioning means 16, no moisture is condensed on the inner wall of a measuring apparatus and the re-dissolution and re-emission of free chlorine are eliminated and free chlorine in the sample water can be measured with high accuracy.
