    • PURPOSE:To get rid of any requirement to use any recording paper on which a residual quantity is marked by detecting the residual quantity of the recording paper through a relationship between the preset initial value and the counted value. CONSTITUTION:At time of setting a recording paper unit, a recording paper case is opened, and after installation, whether this case is closed or not is judged. When opening or closing of this recording paper case is carried out hereat, a recording paper residual quantity counter and a recording paper residual quantity detected value are set to zero each. Next, whether it is of feed of recording paper or not is judged, and if it is the recording paper feed, the recording paper residual counter is increased as much as 1, but if it is not the recording paper feed, the count is put back to the outset. Then, whether the recording paper residual counter's value is more than an optional number N or not is judged, and if the counter value is not more than the N, it is so judged that residual quantity is abundant, and thereby the count is put back to the outset, but if it is more than the N, the recording paper residual quantity detected value is set to 1, whereby such an alarm display as informing that there is no residual quantity, thus operation is over.

    • PURPOSE:To easily cut recording paper by recording a partition line distinguishing a received picture from a remaining recording picture onto the recording paper when an original whose size is smaller than the size of the set recording paper is received. CONSTITUTION:When a preliminary processing is finished (step 100), a recording paper size is discriminated (step 101), and suppose that a paper sheet of B4 size is loaded, a size of a received picture is discriminated (step 102). When it is discriminated that the received picture has a size A4, transfer of space (319-bit) and a black level (1-bit) is implemented (step 106). That is, in the case of the size B4, in total 2048 bits are required and since the size A4 needs 1728 bits in total, a space by the difference 320 bits is formed, and one bit in the space bits is allocated to a black level and the remaining bits are allocated to white levels to print out the space.
