    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water supply system capable of stably supplying hot water without misjudging a gas meter as gas leakage even when an emergency operation is started due to failure of a system controller.
      SOLUTION: When the system controller SC controlling a plurality of water heaters WH1-WH6 can be normally operated, a delay time from establishment of combustible conditions in each water heater to execution of combustion start processing, is set in advance to each of the water heaters WH1-WH6 from the system controller SC, and the delay times are respectively stored in non-volatile storing means of the water heaters WH1-WH6. When a power source of each water heater is reset in accompany with the failure of the system controller SC, a timing of the combustion start processing is delayed according to the delay time set in each of the water heaters WH1-WH6 to prevent the combustion operations from being simultaneously started.

      SOLUTION: In this combustion device, pre-checking and pre-purging of the apparatus are performed before ignition to a combustion gas, and further the stop of an air blower is confirmed in pre-checking. Here, when a signal indicating the rotation of the air blower is received, the combustion device is switched to an initial fan check mode for reconfirming the stop of the air blower. In the initial fan check mode, the air blower is rotated for a very small time, then the stop of the air blower is confirmed again. When the stop is confirmed, the combustion device is recovered to an ordinary operation mode, but when the stop of the air blower can not be confirmed, the rotation of the air blower and the confirmation of stop are repeated by the limited prescribed number of times, so that the processing for abnormality is implemented when the stop of the air blower can not be confirmed for the meantime.
