Thus, the work for unnecessary circulation of refrigerant is excluded, improving the car fuel cost, while the acceleration capacity is not failed when the cooler is in used. And, being continuous controlling, the riding comfortableness is not affected.

CONSTITUTION:When a drive shaft 16 is turned at a high speed, hydraulic pressure is raised rapidly and oil is supplied from an oil passage 29 to a hydraulic pressure port 28 and urges the end face 27 of a valve body 22 disposed at a suction port 14, so that the valve body 22 is moved against the force of a spring 23. This causes relative displacement of the suction port 14 and a valve port 24, and the opening area of the suction port 14 is decreased. Here, the opening-area decreasing rate is increased as the speed of rotation of the drive shaft 16 is increased. Therefore, the discharge quantity is reduced as the speed of rotation of the drive shaft 16 is increased. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to achieve conservation of energy by keeping the amount of circulated coolant at a proper level and preventing excessive supply of coolant at the time of high-speed operation, for instance, in case that the compressor is driven by an automotive engine.
