    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quickly cutting off an alloy without interrupting the operation of a casting apparatus in continuous casting of the alloy, such as a high-Ni-alloy.
      SOLUTION: In the method for cutting off the continuously cast alloy by using a torch, the torch comprises a nozzle for supplying propane gas and oxygen gas, two to four of nozzles for supplying Fe powder and/or Al powder as a combustion auxiliary, a powder tank for storing the powder, and an ejector for ejecting the powder. The content of Al powder is 20 to 50 mass% of the total powder of the combustion auxiliary. The ejector has the shape directed vertically downward with respect to the powder tank. The alloy is cut off by supplying the propane gas, the oxygen gas, and the combustion auxiliary by means of the torch.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quickly performing quantitative analysis of an inclusion composition existing in a metal material by using a spark discharge type emission spectral analysis method.
      SOLUTION: The method for measuring a nonmetal inclusion composition in a metal sample is characterized as follows. When a spark discharge is generated between the metal sample and a counter electrode and an inclusion existing in the metal sample is measured from the emission intensity of each element acquired therefrom, the intensity ratio determined by dividing an intensity value of an emission spectrum intensity line acquired in each spark discharge by the intensity of a matrix element is used, and the intensity ratio is determined by being divided into a base metal portion of each element and an extremely-high intensity ratio caused by a nonmetal inclusion in a discharge time set beforehand, and converted into a composition based on a calibration curve between the intensity ratio and the composition determined beforehand by a standard sample from the intensity ratio of the nonmetal inclusion portion. The operation is performed relative to each element, to thereby determine the nonmetal inclusion composition.
