    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow diagnosis of corrosion of a copper stranded wire without being affected by ultrasonic coupling efficiency.SOLUTION: A diagnostic device 10 includes: an ultrasonic probe 2 which makes an ultrasonic wave incident on a copper stranded wire and receives a reflected wave of the incident ultrasonic wave; a determination value calculating unit which calculates a determination value not including the coupling efficiency of the copper stranded wire on the basis of the intensity of back scattering component being a reflected wave of the ultrasonic wave from a region of the copper stranded wire, to which the distance from the ultrasonic probe 2 is within a prescribed range, and the intensity of the reflected wave of the ultrasonic wave from a target region where the degree of corrosion should be determined; and a determination unit which determines the degree of corrosion of the copper stranded wire on the basis of the determination value calculated by the determination value calculating unit.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe capable of diagnosing easily a steel stranded wire. SOLUTION: A groove 20A is formed so that suspension wires 100 are fitted thereto, along a propagation direction of an ultrasonic wave, on a transmission/reception surface for an ultrasonic wave on the probe 1. Hereby, a contact area between the probe 1 and the suspension wires 100 is increased, and coupling efficiency is improved, to thereby improve accuracy for detecting an ultrasonic wave reflected by a corrosion part or the like of the suspension wires 100. Further, since the groove 20A is fitted to the suspension wires 100 when diagnosing the suspension wires 100, a center line between the probe 1 and the suspension wires 100 is hardly deviated, and measurement dispersion can be reduced.
