The card A inserted through a card slit is carried up to the position where the rear edge part A2 of the card A passes through a detection switch S1. Then the part B1 and then the part B2 are read out successively by a magnetic head 2. With this reading, the calling residual frequency is confirmed. Then the card A is sent backward to the position where the part A2 reaches a detection switch S2. Thus the calling is made possible. When the calling ends, the card A is carried up to the position where the part A2 passes through the S1. Then the part B2 is rewritten by a magnetic head 2.
