    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent soil into a slide hole engaged with the operation arm of an expansion blade from being deposited and compacted in an expansion head.
      SOLUTION: A hydraulic cylinder is coaxially installed in the head rod of the expansion head for excavating operation, and the expansion blade having the operation arm extended from a blade base part in the opposite direction is pivotally supported on the outer peripheral part of the head rod so as to be expanded and contracted at the blade base part. Also, a slide piece is slidably engaged with a slide hole formed at the end part of a reciprocatingly driven cylinder so as to be passed therethrough in the vertical direction, and the tip part of the operation arm is rotatably connected to the slide piece. When the expansion blade is expanded and contracted by the reciprocating driving of the cylinder, the slide piece is reciprocatingly and slidably moved in the slide hole through the operation arm.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the joining section of an excavating rod and reduce the size of it by using a cylinder having no spring and a single hydraulic line system.
      SOLUTION: A hydraulic cylinder type expansible head has a constitution wherein a hydraulic cylinder is built in a head rod at the bottom end of the excavating rod, the single hydraulic line for feeding a hydraulic fluid into the cylinder from outside is passed longitudinally through the excavating rod and expansible blades to be expanded/contracted by driving the hydraulic cylinder are provided on the outer circumference of the head rod. A piston side space having a piston pressure receiving face for receiving a hydraulic pressure and a rod side space having a piston pressure receiving face having an area smaller than that of the former face are defined within the hydraulic cylinder with interposing the piston between the two spaces. Branch lines branched from the single hydraulic line are connected with the piston side space and the rod side space. The piston is driven to the other side by an external force applied to the expansible blades.
