    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mudslide control dam for catching sediment capable of preventing a sedimentation shoulder closing the bottom opening of the dam from being collapsed and flowing out of the bottom opening such that effects of agitation by water drawn from an auxiliary dam and a falling water flow from the dam do not reach the sedimentation shoulder stopped by the lateral slit of the dam and the sedimentation shoulder is not collapsed.
      SOLUTION: This mudslide control dam comprises the dam 2 and the auxiliary dam. The dam 2 comprises an opening part opening from a river bed to a top end. A lattice part 8 to which a plurality of horizontal lateral bars 7 are fixed and having lateral slits 9 is formed in the opening part. A bottom opening 11 is formed between the lattice part 8 and a concrete foundation part 4. The auxiliary dam 3 is installed at a position apart from the downstream face of the dam 2 to the downstream side, and the plurality of vertical slits 12 in the vertical direction are formed at intervals in the river lateral direction. The height of the bottom opening 11 is set lower than the height of the auxiliary dam 3 to set lower (smaller) the height of the bottom opening 11 more than a high water depth when the auxiliary dam 3 is increased in height.
