    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel vertical fish passage which enables fish to easily run up and a method for constructing the same.SOLUTION: In a vertical fish passage, steel receiving beams 13 are arranged at intervals in a lateral direction and in a plurality of stages in a bedrock side wall 12 along a river so as to project from the bedrock side wall 12. The base end side of each steel receiving beam 13 is fixed to the bedrock side wall with an anchor member, and a steel transverse beam 18 extending in a horizontal direction is erected across the steel receiving beams 13 while the steel transverse beams 18 are arranged in a vertical direction in a plurality of stages. A steel vertical beam 21 for supporting a fish passage unit is erected on the steel transverse beams 18, and a steel fish passage unit 25 is installed to the steel vertical beam 21 to thereby form a fish passage. In a method for constructing the vertical fish passage, the steel fish passage unit 25 is installed after the steel receiving beams, the steel transverse beams and the steel vertical beams are installed.
