    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembling structure of a fireproof glass capable of increasing the safety of the glass at the time of damage to the glass and preventing fireproof performance from being impaired without causing any problem in manufacture and quality.
      SOLUTION: In this assembling structure of the fireproof glass, a glass pane body 2 is fitted to a metal holding frame 4. In the glass pane body 2, a polyester resin film 3 having heat resistance and transparency is integrally covered on the plate surface of the glass pane body. A holding material 5 selected from a group comprising a non-flammable backup material, a sealing material for fire prevention, and a metal elastic holding material is filled between the glass pane body 2 and the holding frame 4, without clearance, through all the periphery thereof to mount the glass pane body to the inside of the holding frame.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the edge strength of a glass plate by polishing the end surface of a plate glass into a curved surface shape which projects outward, and finishing the boundary part between the curved surface part of the end surface and the flat surface parts on the front and back sides of the glass smoother than the curved surface part. CONSTITUTION: A curved surface part 3a projecting outward is polished on the end surface of a plate glass 3 by using the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical wheel 10 to be rotated around its shaft core. A polishing part finer than the abrasive of No.200 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical wheel 10, and irregularities in the front surface of the curved surface part 3a is finished into about 0.03. Next, the boundary part 3c between the curved surface part 3a and the flat surface parts 3b is buff-polished by using the outer peripheral surface of the polishing belt 11 to be rotated. Polishing by the polishing belt 11 is performed by sufficiently pouring aqueous solution of cerium oxide on the part to be polished, and the surface roughness is finished to a few μm.
