    • PURPOSE: To obtain double layer glass which is mountable at a sash and does not require spacers by sealing a glass plate having a flange part and another glass plate via an adhesive over the entire periphery of the flange part, thereby forming a closed space. CONSTITUTION: The glass plate 2 having a flat part 2a, a continuous sidewall part 2b bent to have a recessed shape from this flat part 2a and the continuous flange part 2c bent outward from this sidewall part 2b is formed. This glass plate 2 and another glass plate 3 are then joined and sealed by the adhesive 4 over the entire periphery of the flange part 2c, by which the hermetically closed space 5 is formed between the glass plate 2 and the glass plate 3 and the double layer glass 1 is produced. The thickness of the sidewall part 2b of the glass plate 2 is preferably set at >=0.7 times the thickness of the flat part 2a. Low melting glass solder or low moisture vapor permeation resin adhesives are adequately used as the adhesive 4. The deformation of the glass plates 2, 3 is effectively prevented if dry air of ordinary temp., etc., are enclosed into the hermetically closed space 5.

    • PURPOSE:To efficiently apply a treatment agent by a method wherein small resin pieces impregnated with the treatment agent are discharged from a nozzle and allowed to collide with the surface of an article to allow the treatment agent to exude from the small resin pieces to the surface of the article and the small resin pieces are subsequently removed from the surface of the article. CONSTITUTION:Small resin pieces 1b having open fine voids and showing flexibility in such a state that said fine voids are impregnated with a treatment agent (e.g. a liquid substance composed of wax dissolved in a solvent) in a liquid state are discharged from nozzles 7a, 7b. These small resin pieces 1b are allowed to collide with the surface of an article 15 to be treated to allow the treatment agent to exude from the small resin pieces 1b to the surface of the article 15, and subsequently, the small resin pieces 1b are removed from the surface of the article 15. As a result, the treatment agent can be applied not only to the surface of an article having a flat shape but also to the surface of an article having a three-dimensionally curved shape entirely or partially without lowering treatment capacity.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a glass product having good smooth surface at low cost, by uniformly pre-heating a glass plate, supporting and pushing up a peripheral part of the glass plate, moving the plate to the prescribed position, heating the prescribed local part without bringing a part to which smooth surface of the glass plate is required into contact with other article and molding the plate. CONSTITUTION:A glass product having smooth surface is obtained by the following 4 processes a-d; (a) a process for uniformly preheating (with heater 4) a glass plate 2, supporting both ends of glass plate 2 (with a supporting ring 6), (b) a transfering process for supporting and pushing up a peripheral part of the glass plate 2 (using a shaft 7, a receiving dish part 8 and end part 3B of a receiving dish) and transfering the glass plate 2 to a prescribed position in a locally heating apparatus (9, 9A, 9B) stood on the upper part thereof, (C) the locally heating process for heating a prescribed curved local part (peripheral part) of transferred glass plate 2 and (d) a molding process for the locally heated glass plate 2 into a prescribed mould (forming mould 12, press mould 13).

    • PURPOSE: To manufacture a hollow glass article having an inclined neck, in high accuracy, by placing a glass preform in a separable female mold consisting of a main female mold for forming the main part and an assistant female mold for forming the neck, and heating and evacuating the mold.
CONSTITUTION: A glass preform 4 having a shape resembling the main part of the glass article to be molded is placed in a separable female mold composed of a main female mold 1 for forming the main part of the objective article having an opening and an assistant female mold 2 for forming the neck. The glass preform 4 is heated and the cavity of the separable female mold 3 is evacuated with a vacuum pump through the suction holes 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, etc. to effect the close contact of the glass preform 4 to the forming surface of the female mold 3. If necessary, compressed gas is introduced into the glass preform 4 through the compressed gas introducing hole bored to the pressing plate 8. A formed glass article having a neck inclined from the opening part by an angle of ≤30° can be manufactured by this process.
