The welded tube is improved by this forming and butting process. By restriction of the V-roll, the generation of crop is prevented and a good true circle tube can be obtained even in the case of a large diameter thin tube.

    • PURPOSE:To improve cutting efficiency by providing an edge miller with side rollers at the upper stream sides and by cutting a steel sheet to a specified width by the edge miller after rolling the edges of the steel sheet in the cross direction. CONSTITUTION:Side rollers 3 for rolling a steel sheet S to a specified width is provided at the upper stream of an edge miller 1. The steel sheet S is rolled by these side rollers 3 to a specified width in the cross direction, and then the edges of the steel sheet are cut by the edge miller 1. In the process of rolling to a specified width, the steel sheet is rolled to the specified width +2to(to: dimension error) and after that, the edge miller performs cutting of the edge of to per one side. By performing the rolling to the specified width before cutting, the cutting amount can be lessened and the cutting efficiency can be improved.
