    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent an air flow from leaking and to make repair of root portions by providing plates extending between sheet metals and fins in the direction which is substantially rectangular to the core part ventilation direction and filling up gaps formed between the sheet metals and fins. CONSTITUTION:A corrugated fin type heat exchanger has two hot water tanks 2 and 14, sheet metals 8 and 80 which cover the hot water tanks, and core parts. The core parts are formed by a large number of tubes 10 both ends of each of which are inserted into and connected to both hot water tanks 2 and 14 an fins 12 mounted on these tubes 10. A thin and long plate 10 such as a bent portion 16 which extends in the direction substantially rectangular to the ventilating direction 4 of the core part and fills up gaps between the sheet metals 8 and 80 and the fin 12, is provided between the sheet metal 8 and the fin 12. Since the tip end of the bent portion 16 makes contact with the end portion 12a of the fin 12, it is possible to prevent the air flow from leaking and further when the leak is generated from the root portion, soldering of a part D is carried out from the direction C by a line solder and thus the repair of the root portion is made possible.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent air leakage between fins and a sheet metal and to obtain a dimension of high precision with respect to the height of a core formed by fins by disposing a plate between the sheet metal and fins of a heat exchanger and inserting a tube into the plate. CONSTITUTION:A hot water inlet pipe 2 is connected to a hot water tank 1, and a hot water outlet pipe 4 is connected to a hot water tank 3. A sheet metal 7 covers a hot water tank 5. A tube 8 inserted into the sheet metal 7 is connected to the hot water tank 5. Corrugated type fins 9 are loaded in the tube 8. The plate 11 covers almost the entire part of the sheet metal 7. The tube 8 is inserted into the plate 11, and the fins 9 are engaged with the plate 11 in a state of being pressed at the end portions thereof. Since the fins 9 are constantly pressed, air leakage between the fins and the sheet metal as shown by arrow can be prevented, and the height dimension of the core forming the fins can be determined by the plate 11. Hence, it is possible to improve the precision of the core height dimension.
