CONSTITUTION:A running over clutch is arranged neighboring to a planetary gear reduction machine constituted by an internal gear 5 and a planetary gear 24, and the clutch is constituted by a clutch outer 3, roller 6, clutch inner shaft 8 and clutch cover 7. A pin 2a rotatably supporting a planetary gear 2 is fixedly press fitted to the clutch outer 3. A pinion gear 11 can be moved in the shaft direction with a magnet switch 14 by using the first lever 13 and the second lever 12, and a moving range of the gear 11 is limited by a stop collar 8a and a stepped part 8b of the shaft 8 in this way, a starter output transmission shaft is formed short.

CONSTITUTION:An internal gear 3 is turned with a pin 2a being fixed to a center case 15, and a clutch shaft 7 is designed to function as a clutch inner element as well as a pinion shaft by forming the internal gear 3 and a clutch outer element 4 integrally with each other. Further, a pin 11 is fitted to a spline 11a formed on the shaft 7. Thus, since the length A from a speed-reducing means to the top of the pinion shaft 7 is reduced, it is enabled to reduce the entire length of a starter.
